Below is an exchange between one of the 6-10 job recruitment emails I receive DAILY. (Don’t be fooled folks, the job market out there is really good).
However, this demonstrates what is inherently wrong with labor and the “job creators”* in our country.
(*Remember, the term “job creator” is total bullshit because the people who have the ability to create jobs really dont give a damn if they are creating jobs or not. They just want to see if they can get their overhead and hire people for as little wage as humanly possible. Essentially, these companies would hire neuro physicists for $5 an hour if they could get away with it). Below is the exchange.)

Everything listed is well within the scope of my experience. Currently, I am working on a contract that seems to have no end for HRSA.
I am making $xx/hour on a 1099 with absolutely no benefits including no sick leave.
If you can do better than this, I will consider.
Thanks,
Chad Graybill

Considering I just re-signed a year lease living in North Bethesda, MD…. I don’t think this rate is reasonable enough for me to break my lease and move my life to Martinsburg, WV. The commute from my current residence is 50+ miles one way through some of the worst traffic the east coast has to offer.
Can we reconsider with this in mind?
A friend of mine said, “There are many job opportunities out there right now. The problem is that everyone wants help, but nobody wants to pay for it.” Can you show ME that you really want my help and make it worth my while to uproot my life for this? The way I see this, we are all responsible for our own health care at this point. I dont understand why companies have very little to pay for labor these days. It’s bad enough that we now cover our own health care, then companies don’t want to pay for any sick or vacation leave. How much more cheaper can we make labor for the “job creators”? I don’t understand why BEFORE the ACA(“obamacare”), companies covered health care AND leave. Now they want to cover NOTHING? I dont see how this is reasonable or even fair.
Merely $5 extra dollars an hours doesn’t seem really reasonable enough for this.
Apparently, when we want something we pay for it. When the “job creators” or the people who HAVE MONEY want something, we are supposed to give it to them for free.
This is why I do not rise for the national anthem.
UPDATE: this person didn’t even read the response and just sent me a form to sign for “exclusivity” so nobody else can PIMP me for this contract. Essentially, they just made the assumption that I accepted their offer. Once again, proof that nobody in America reads ANYTHING. I responded saying:
We are still negotiating! If you actually read my last post you will know that I did not accept your offer and was questioning the reasons why the consideration is so low. I will not sign any agreement until the terms are reasonable. Your suggested terms are not reasonable as mentioned in my last post.
You can’t talk about these “Job Creators” without looking at who they are and what’s really going on. Now Chad,…I’ve always believed that this country has had an absolute love affair with the notion of WELFARE. I’m not speaking about Social Welfare; the help that a single mother, a disabled Vet or an orphaned child gets. Some poor soul with a physical disability needs care? Let’s help. I’m not talking about school lunches, foodstamps,Government cheese ,Obama phones or anything else that might enrage Rush Limbaugh. Hell, I’m not even talking about Medical Assistance. That’s for another post.
Based on its sheer size, the type of welfare our country LOVES is Corporate Welfare. It’s our thing. We can’t get enough of it. And these “Job Creators” you speak of in your post? They cream over it. They’re addicted to it. They have to have it. And WE gladly foot the bill.
Let’s take a second and call the “Job Creators” you mention by their more familiar name: “The One-Percenters”. That societal cache of douchebags, spunk-bubbles and asshats who own the corporate interests and industries that own most of US. Think the Walton Family. Think the Koch Brothers. General Electric. Halliburton. Boeing. GM.The “Miltary-Industrial Complex” Eisenhower warned us about. They list in the hundreds.
While Middle-Class America works in indentured servitude to the keep the country going and the lights on, this greedy band of fortunate sons have been suckling HARD at the Government teat for decades. A herd of filthy corporate swine that refuse to leave the Government trough. They’ve squeezed of hundreds of Billions of dollars from anyone who punches a clock and pays their taxes like a shmoe.
According to the Cato Institute, an independent, Libertarian think tank headquartered in Washington, D.C, we the American people subsidize this corporate horseshit to the tune of more than $90 billion ANNUALLY. Individuals in our society on social welfare only pull down around two-thirds of that amount: roughly $59 billion.(1)
Last year, a whopping $110 Billion was shelled out to Corporate interests (2), all so these “Job Creators” would be able to “compete within the International marketplace” or “invest in community development” or for “research and development” purposes. And presumably create decent, meaninful, good paying, middle-class jobs. Whether that has happened or not, I’ll leave for you to decide.
“Job Creators” like Boeing, the number one Corporate whore, raked in over $13 Billion of Government subsidies last year alone. Yet Boeing actually CUT a huge chunk of their work-force, both blue and white collar. And in all liklihood, YOU paid more in income taxes last year than they did! How do they get away with doing shit like this? They engage the OTHER band of whores in our culture, The Congress. Back-room lobbying, campaign donations, nepotism and flat-out graft: this is what these “Job Creators” know best. This has allowed them countless lucrative Government contracts, subsidies, grants, tax breaks and sweetheart deals from the criminal clowns we elect to watch over the store.
And the clowns are getting rich too. Demographics show that only roughly one percent of the population of the United States are actual millionaires (3). However, of the 435 members of the House, 244 current members of Congress are millionaires. That’s well over half. The top three richest men in Congress and their net worth? 1. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.)$303 million – 2. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.)$238 million – 3. Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.)$174 million.
In this context, THIS is the only area where the “Job Creators” have EXCELLED in creating meaningful, well-paying jobs.
So the next time you want to get mad at some bum buying a Red Bull with an Access Card or you see some Hobo on Mass Transit talking on his Obamaphone; don’t drink the corporate “Job Creator” Kool-Aid. Corporate Fathers LOVE to blame Welfare Mothers. And they love it even more when the Middle Class does too. That means these corporate pigs can keep on using both sides of their mouth: eating undisturbed at the trough with one side as they falsely promise more jobs with the other.

These recruiters are collecting resumes to bid on the work. If you get one with NAICS codes on it, you should ask the recruiter if the firm actually has the work or are they bidding on it.
What a mess.
