Fooling around with the Electribe Sampler 2 and Plogue Alter Ego this evening (hell, it’s better than drinking in DC).
Here’s the result:

Damned Blinkin’ Asteroid
This is a new pattern I created this evening calling Blinkin’ Asteroid. This was done completely on the Korg Electribe Sampler.
I created this after listening to this song at lunch. You can hear how hung up I get on the smallest of tunes in a day.
Thank you Brian Eno and Karl Hyde for inspiration!
(and DAMMIT! YOU LAZY PEOPLE! I know you are all sitting there listening to this through some shitty phone speakers. I DO NOT MIX FOR CELL PHONE SPEAKERS so get yer damned head phones out, you lazy ass!)
The Second CHOB Album Has (Crash) Landed!
The triumphant return of the Hozpitality spin-off, Chob. Pushing the limits, of their former ambient/sound painting foundation, Chob incorporates more rhythms and sonic textures of radiance, and sinister darkness. Dive into the sea of exploration with the sonic exploitation of Chob II.

Eighth Release from Hozpitality!!! We’re BACK!
Inspired by this quote:
My interest in making music has been to create something that does not exist that I would like to listen to, not because I wanted a job as a musician. I wanted to hear music that had not yet happened, by putting together things that suggested a new thing which did not yet exist. It’s like having a ready-made formula if you are able to read it.
— Brian Eno
Track List
- Synchroid Inclusion (2:30)
CeMeGo “barely” tries to play bass guitar on this one. This uses the Synchroid phone application for bleep bleep music fun. - Waka Waka (3:41)
A pre-built rhythm on the Korg Electribe S causes Brian and CeMeGo to break out in a crazy jam. Brian plays the spooky atmospheric phone app Caustic. - Nicky Anus (3:21)
MsNeeBo tells the story of what it would be like to be married to a guy named Nicky Anus. This also happens to be her fictitious hockey player in NHL 2014 for the PlayStation. - The Mean Streets (8:12)
Another pre-built rhythm on the Korg Electribe S. Brian does the spooky atmosphere and occaisional melody on the phone app Caustic. CeMeGo pointlessly mashes pads on the Electribe and Kaossilator. - Hipster Roller Rink (2:43)
Started as an instrumental track by CeMeGo. MsNeeBo and Bitchin Bob demanded a vocal. This was the result. (BitchinBob channels Fred Schneider). - NDAD (1:30)
“Neighbors Dogs are Dicks”. This is an actual recording of the chorus of dog barkings behind MsNeeBo’s house on a lovely fall evening. This uses the Kruud VST synthesizer/sequencer on the Korg Microkey for quirky melody. Hang in for the rockin’ break down on the last half of the track. - Jagdeesh Donuts (4:03)
A Dunkin Donuts in Eldersburg, MD has an annoying order taker with the name “Jagdeesh” who always yells your order back at you. He’s very aggressive. MsNeeBo hit the drive thru with a recording device. Magic ensues with Sweet Tea and Cream Cheese. - Black Friday(Get Behind Me) (3:03)
This was recorded around Christmas 2013. MsNeeBo and CeMeGo playing with the magic of synthetically tortured voices on the Kaossilator. A song about Christmas shopping riots with a rhythmic electronic “bop” for good measure. - Godwins (6:56)
Heavy distortion lovers rejoice!! BitchinBob on electric guitar and CeMeGo on bass guitar flailing and reverb/delay smashing. BitchinBob reveals the true nature of biblical doctrine at the end in “evil satan voice”. Thought of the day: “Things that don’t work properly will now become things that DO work properly.” Fortunately “God Wins!”

Hozpitality 2015 Explosion!!!
Some very hot molten tracks were laid down tonight!!!
Brian and I laid down some shit with:
- his phone app, Caustic
- Korg Electribe Sampler
- Korg Kaossilator Pro
- Korg MiniKP (red box)
Here’s the hot sexy results.
Try not to think you are in a Baretta chase scene with this one called “Crystal Shit”:
This is a long ride, but worth it for the ending.
Leave comments and prepare ideas. Hozpitality’s new album is coming at you like an electronic tsunami!!!!!!
A Hozpitality Prog Rock “In-Joke”…
“Aren’t they all?!”
So, I was messing around tonight after re-re-reinstalling my ableton 9 pro suite deluxe with wings. I think I got it installed now (finally). I thought i’d noodle around with a weird noise or two and make a mess.
I call this masterpiece (at 43 seconds) “Bruford Gives Up”.
It brings to mind Bruford’s playing in King Crimsons “Requiem”. Also, it has smacks of the “dream cheeky orgasm” drum solo.
But I learned a pinch about Ableton 9 Live Pro Studio Ultra Deluxe Full Blown Suck You Dry version®.
Just preppin for the arrival of the Electribe Sampler… (its comin dammit! they billed me already!)
Stupidly fun and shit’s GOTTA get better than this!
The Coolest Thing You Can Do With A Steinway Concert Grand Piano
Other than play it really well…
I thought this sounded and looked incredible.
Hall of The Titan Mountain Thing
I was playing my stupid Jackpot Party Casino game on my phone. I was winning big. When you win big in a slot machine, the music plays a repetitive arpeggio or loop while it totals (or dramatically counts up) your winnings. For some reason when I won on this slot machine, the “count your money up” loop got stuck on my phone.
Before the app crashed, I plugged my phone into the Korg Kaoss Pad (aka the red box) and tortured the loop with effects.
Put this in your headphones and check it out! Play it loud! Try to identify all the different effects going on. Half the time, its not even altering an audio source. The red box snatches up a sample and lets you torture it in mid-air. It’s TOO POWERFUL!!! 🙂
snow, Snow, SNOWWWW! (and Rosemary Clooney cannot sing!)
This song is played on the Mike O’meara show when they discuss the snowy forecast.
It’s Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, and Rosemary Clooney. Rosemary has got to be one of the most talentless singers ever. Between her and Keeley Smith, I don’t know who is more boisterous and flat. The opening attempt at harmony makes Hozpitality sound good.
Play this song as you throw out your back shoveling. Be sure to be playing this as your car skids out of control on the highway ending your meaningless life in the…
snowwwwwwww…. Snowwwwwwwwwww…. SNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW….
A Hozpitality Bit – Synchroid Inclusion
So I was bored while everyone was watching the Winter Olympics in SoCheee and I started playing with the Synchroid Application (“App”) on my Android phone. Synchroid is a simple application where you scribble sound on the phone screen and you can reprocess it through a few synthesizer processors to make a nifty loop. I came up with a loop today in Synchroid that, probably because of Olympic level boredom, sounded TO ME like a nifty musical loop. I couldn’t get enough of it, so I decided to put it into a song.
What is special about this is, it would be the first time I made music with:
1. The Korg Kaossilator Pro
2. Pre Built Acid Loops
3. The Bass Guitar
4. and MY TELEPHONE using Synchroid (this of course being the unused tool in my music making thus far).
It came out neat. I put in the loops from the Synchroid phone app first, then the Pre Built Acid Loop drums, and then a drum loop from the Kaossilator. At this point I thought, it had been a while since I broke out the bass guitar, dusted it, tuned it and (once again) TRIED to play it. This is why you hear the shoddy sloppy bass playing in the back of the whole thing.
BOTTOM LINE: I had fun doing it and it killed a few hours. It’s only 2:18 minutes so, tell me what you think of Synchroid Inclusion.
