This Guy Should Get a Medal for Service to His Country!

… and the smug do goodery comments of the law enforcement in this article, are so transparent and full of PR bullshit, it makes me want to puke!

Welcome to the MTA: Please Mind the Gap

I love New York. Specifically, I love the New York Subway System! The MTA is a combination transportation system, multicultural carnival and general Thunderdome of shit, specifically designed to test your person-hood and your patience at every turn by bombarding you with pure bullshit.

Speaking of bullshit, we turn to our video clip, where we see a patron of the Subway, barely dressed, as a bumblebee, Folks, I’ve been to 3 State Fairs, a Goat Rodeo and several overseas brothels and I must say that I’ve NEVER…. EVER seen anything that compares to this.

He’s good. He’s doing kicks. He dips and dances and moves like a pro. It looks like he spends most of his time onstage doing drag. He can also carry a tune: doing his own rendition of LMFAO’s “I’m Sexy And I Know It”. He gyrates. He booty pops for the crowd. They love him. They are his people. Absolutely mesmerizing, eh? In that costume all I can think of is that old-school subway warning: “Please Mind The Gap”

Now before any more vomit builds up in my throat, it’s been suggested the guy is high out of his mind. I can’t really speculate what drugs he may be on, if any at all. Perhaps we should ask the little EIGHT YEAR OLD CHILD who’s getting a fucking eyeful right there in his front row seat to this shit spectacle. Maybe that kid saw him do some drugs. Maybe not. Either way, …he’s sexy and he knows it.

The Trashing of Twinbrook Parkway

It has been a little over a year since I ended my 10 year romance with the garbage addled city of Philadelphia. I’m now living in the Rockville/N. Bethesda area. On my way home from work yesterday (walking to get to the subway), I noticed this scene on Twinbrook Parkway.

The question I have is the following (feel free to speculate in the comments):

1. Disgruntled office worker, project manager, tech writer, etc… with a truck full of proposals decided he/she wasn’t getting what they deserved for their hard work and pitched them out the window.  I could have considered doing this myself many times.  (The “take this job and shove it” theory).
2. Oops, I missed the recycling bin.
3. Should’ve put those proposals in the back seat instead of the back of the pickup. (The “used to carrying immigrant workers in the back” theory).

The funny part about this is that there was a street cleaner sitting at the side of the road less than a block away just idling with nobody in it. Typical!!!

American Consumers are The Dumbest in the World!!

sheep1

There was an article in (ugh) Yahoo News today about the problems with the iPhone roll outs. The comments were very “I told you so” but they still were rife with ignorance.

Stupid Yahoo Article about Apple Link

I had to make a posting to hopefully shine a light on consumer ignorance:

This is the age of the idiot consumer. I like how the posters refer to Apple or Samsung. Folks, it is APPLE or ANDROID… Samsung is a hardware brand, not an operating system. This is the same issue I have with people thinking the only way to get on-line is Comcast or Verizon. There are so many ways to get online that are as good or better than both of these.

The rants on here are mostly justified, but they show genuine ignorance. This techno ignorance appears all the time. People calling Microsoft Office, Microsoft Windows. I’ve heard people calling the Google Chome browser, “Windows”. I hear people calling ANY internet access “WiFi”, even when they are connected with an network cable.

We are all such victims of advertising. This consumer ignorance leads to monopolies, less choices, overpowered corporate entities and higher prices (as companies realize the only way to sell a crappy product is to dump all of the R&D money into glossy advertisements). If we truly honor capitalism, as consumers, we must be informed of ALL the options, not just the one’s with big advertising budgets. Everybody WAKE UP and turn off the TV. Stop letting the idiots on the Today show, and crap like that, inform you about technology. They don’t know jack!!!

It is no secret that I am loathsome of popular culture, but when it leads to complete and total ignorance, I raise the “look at your stupid selves” flag.  I think the term “sheeple” applies here on every level.

A Little Late But My Christmas Fave

Every year on the David Letterman show, Paul Shaffer does the official singing of “Oh Holy Night” by Cher, impression. I remember this from the 1980’s and he’s still doing it which is totally awesome!

I live for this and I recently found where they are on the youtubes. Here’s an explanation:

This one is more in the flavor that I loved. I loved the reference to Donahue. Very 80’s. I loved his viewer mail and Dave was so much better in the 80’s on NBC. I sort of think he died when he moved to CBS. (…and still the reference to the “muff”)

and then we have 2008
