Harmonia Remix That’s Really Cool

For those who don’t know Harmonia, they were part of that early German electronic collective that consisted of Kraftwerk, Neu!, and Cluster(aka Kluster and Qluster).

Harmonia consisted of Hans Joachim Roedelius, Dieter Moebius, and Michael Rother.  All of these people affected or played in the big electronic German three above.

Roedelius + Rother + Moebius = Harmonia
Roedelius + Rother + Moebius = Harmonia
I want a living room like this.
I want a living room like this.

For my want, I was always on the lighter side of the German electronic stuff, obviously connected somehow to Brian Eno (of  course).  I leaned more on the Cluster, Moebius, Roedelius stuff.  More atmosphere and shit.  I later listened to Neu! and learned how the stuff can rock with teeth.  And thanks to MsNeeBo and others, Kraftwerk became the smooth cross over of all of this music.  This is how my taste sits.  (I’m not going to even start a dissertation on how none of this would exist without the German band Can, but that’s another blog).

So…

I found this Harmonia discography on the web that contained the following track.  It is a re-do of a Harmonia song called Deluxe (Immer Wieder).  The mix is credited to something called “Post Love Crackers”.  I like it. If you are impatient and have the musical attention span of a gnat and wanna groove, bump it up to about 4:20 and crank it.

and because you can never get enough of German men droning, here’s the original. I like it just as much.

Here’s the lyrics if you want to sing along:

Immer wieder rauf und runter,
Einmal drauf und einmal drunter,
Immer wieder hin und her,
Kreuz und quer, mal leicht, mal schwer.
Immer wieder rauf und runter,
Einmal drauf und einmal drunter.

Here’s the translation:

Up and down again and again,
Once on top and once underneath,
Back and forth again and again,
Crisscross, once easy, once hard.
Up and down again and again,
Once on top and once underneath.
